This years Catwalk show was held at the University of Bedfordshire but the place was completely transformed. This years displays had a floral focus. This was very fitting with what Fashion Show LIVE do as the Catwalk Show showcases how the models have blossomed.

Hey guys,

I hope you are all okay. So I am aware I have been pretty absent on my blog this year but the uni work load has been pretty hectic to be honest, as well as having a job and keeping up to date with my YouTube channel. Because of this I'm transitioning my blog to have a lifestyle focus opposed to mainly fashion. I feel like this will give me a better chance to post more frequently as I consider my lifestyle posts to be more relaxed whereas I take my fashion posts a bit more seriously. Never the less I still of course will be posting fashion on here.

Now my rambley intro is out of the way lets get into the actual post. So I thought for today I would do something a bit different. I've never really done a post like this before but I've seen other peoples and I love them, I think its such a great idea to find out new things to watch and its also interesting to hear other peoples opinions on certain shows.

So if you hadn't already worked out todays post is about what I've been watching on Netflix. I am one of those people who was just a bit late on the Netflix bandwagon and have only had it this year whilst being at uni so I feel like I was pretty behind on everything people used to reference haha.

Anyway with the course I do (if you didn't already know I do Fashion Design) I have a lot of opportunity  to watch Netflix. I think most of you know thats not because I don't have much work but actually because the type of work I do its great to just stick a Netflix TV series on whilst designing and doing my work.

So when people normally do this post they kind of just tell you what they have been watching recently but I thought why not just tell you everything I've watched series wise so far and just give you my opinion on them all.

Now before we begin I am the type of person who likes to watch a full series through. I won't watch anything else until I am done with it and I don't tend to give up on a series even if its not my absolute favourite.

I also just wanted to say that I do think watching too much Netflix or similar related channels can have an effect on your mental health so I wanted to make sure I put this In as a little disclaimer. I am not saying it always can have this affect but I think its something to be cautious of. There are a lot of hard hitting topics covered in some Netflix shows and if you are the type of person who is easily effected by that kind of thing I would recommend to make sure you only watch in moderation. It can also be super easy to seclude yourself from everything around you once you are gripped to a series.

However that being said I do think Netflix has some amazing shows on it and things which just are not covered on our TV screens anymore. Don't get me wrong I can be held guilty for watching the reality shows now and then and I do have a Hay U subscription too for Keeping Up With The Kardashains. However the Netflix dramas are not ones to be missed.

So here we go in no particular order,  I hope its not too boring haha....

The key review words are in this colour incase you don't want to read the full review. (Below is a key explaining what each of these review words mean.)

"A FAV OF MINE"

One of my favourite shows on Netflix. Would definitely rewatch and recommend.

"MY KIND OF THING"

I personally love it. I don't thin k its probably everyones cup of tea and the best thing I have ever seen but I think its great.

"THOUGHT PROVOKING/INTERESTING"

One of those programmes that makes you think about the bigger issues and really interesting to watch.

"DECENT"

Its a good programme. I enjoyed watching it but I would not rave about it.

"GRIPPING"

Not necessarily my favourite show personally, however it is very good and definitely gripping. I probably found it jumpy in some parts.

"AN EASY WATCH"

This obviously means its something that is easy to watch. I don't dislike it at all but definitely not one of my favourites.

1. Gilmore Girls

"A FAV OF MINE"

This is easily one of my favourite series on Netflix that I have watched so far. Its a feel good tv series with romantic links throughout. I loved this because its a super easy watch so its great for having on in the background when I'm doing work or to watch before I go to bed. It follows the relationship between a mother and daughter and their lives and being brought out initially in the early 2000s it has a very nostalgic feel to it when you watch it. It also took my ages to watch the whole series so if your looking for something long term then this is a great one.

2. Orange Is The New Black

"A FAV OF MINE"

This is definitely also a strong favourite of mine too. It follows the story of character Piper Chapman who lives an ordinary life until she is sentenced to time in prison. This is amongst Netflix's most popular Comedy Dramas. With a strong female cast you learn about the inmates backgrounds, where they came from and how they got to where they are. You follow the relationships they form in prison and all the drama that comes with it. With a whole six series this is also a long one but definitely worth the watch. As the series go on you feel yourself becoming attached to certain characters. I've watched this twice now I'd say the first time I watched it I was so griped so its not really a background watch as such but the second time round rewatching it I loved to just have it on in the background whilst doing my work.

3. Dear White People

"THOUGHT PROVOKING/INTERESTING"

Dear white people is about students who attend a top university to discover there are many more racial issues happening around them than people may think. It is a witty programme which covers some serious issues and displays different characters views. The main character hosts a radio show called 'Dear White People' to demonstrate her ideas about the racial issues happening around her and you follow how this affects life at the University. With only two series you could easily give this a watch. I also think it is important to watch things about peoples opinions we may not have thought about and to open our eyes up to the reality of what is happening around us.

4. She's Gotta Have It

"DECENT"

This is about an artist named Nola Darling who goes through a journey of learning about herself whilst keeping up with three very different romances. She starts off so sure of herself but her journey makes her realise otherwise. It is an easy watch and doesn't take that long to get though so if your looking for a background watch for the whole day this could be a good one for you.

5. Girls Incarcerated

"THOUGHT PROVOKING/INTERESTING"

This is a little bit different. Girls Incarcerated is set up in more of a documentary format. It follows girls in America who are in a maximum security facility. You get to know the individuals offences and how they react in Madison (the facility they are in). You see how they deal with certain situations and relationships they form. I found this a really interesting watch. I love things like this and even though there is only one season a lot of the girls who are out now out have their own YouTube channels which I like to watch too so you can see where they are now. As its only one season too this definitely  won't take you long to get through.

6. Easy

"DECENT"

This follows different peoples very different relationships and their lives. Most of the episodes are focused around one individual couples life and as the series goes on you start to see these couples intertwine into each others lives. I enjoyed watching this and I think its cleverly put together to give different perspectives of relationships in the modern world. Its easy to watch and only has a couple of series so if your looking for something short to watch this is a great one for the evenings.

7.Gossip Girl

"A FAV OF MINE"

Definitely a favourite of mine on Netflix. It took me a while to get through with six whole seasons. It's a drama which follows super rich kids through Manhattan who at first seem to get just what they want. However with Gossip Girl following their every move little is a secret about them. If you want to see the glamour of what its like in their high privileged lives and you love a drama this is a great one for you.

8. Free Rein

"DECENT"

This is one of my guilty pleasures. Im pretty sure its probably aimed at people younger than me and it does have a slight Disney Channel vibe to it. But I secretly love it. Don't get me wrong its not the best thing you will ever watch but its an easy to watch story following Zoe who's an American girl visiting her Grandad in England and ends up falling in love with going to the stables and you follow all the drama that comes with it. With only two seasons its not a long watch but they are brining out new episodes and I will most probably give them a watch.

9. Riverdale

"GRIPPING"

Riverdale was one of those shows that I always heard everyone on twitter talking about. I think its a good series but I guess I was slightly disappointed just because I think it was overhyped. The first season and the second season I personally found very different to each other. The first season was more of a drama whereas even though season two was obviously still a drama I found it much more jumpy. Now I'm not saying it was scary but I was personally at the edge of my seat watching parts of it. Even though I don't think it was the best thing ever I was definitely gripped to it and couldn't wait to see what happened next. The show is about a group of school kids who investigate deaths which are happening in what they thought was their very ordinary and safe town. I would also definitely give the next season a watch when it comes out.

10.Black Mirror

"GRIPPING"

This one is a bit different to some of the others I have previously mentioned. The series explores a future full of technology and different twisted scenarios of what it would be like if we lived in these times. There are completely different scenarios throughout black mirror. Now I am easily scared and despite this not being exactly scary I can find some of the episodes jumpy and just generally so strange that I don't like watching them by myself. So just a warning for those of you who are like me. There are four seasons of black mirror. I haven't watched them all yet. If you were also wondering it comes under the Sci-Fi and fantasy tv drama category.

11. Don't Trust the B**** in Apartment 23

"MY KIND OF THING"

Despite not having watched this for a while now. I loved this and would recommend, its just my kind of thing. Okay its probably not for everyone. Its a tv comedy series about a girl called June who moves to New York and has a nightmare roommate Chloe. But June tries her best to turn the tables around. Its an easy watch and only has two seasons so if you like that kind of thing its deffo worth giving it a try!

12.Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

"AN EASY WATCH"

Believe it or not this is the first ever thing I watched on Netflix. Now I must say its not my absolute favourite thing but nevertheless I did actually watch the whole thing. It is a comedy series about a women who was kidnapped when she was younger and lived a cult lifestyle. The story follows her life after she was rescued and her trying to navigate our modern world. Despite it not being my favourite it is an easy watch and its decent. With four seasons it should last you a while.

13. Girl Boss

"MY KIND OF THING"

Girl boss is a comedy about a girl who is rebellious and is pretty much broke. We follow the story of her launching her online Fashion brand and watch her become a boss. I absolutely love this. Its probably not one of the best things on Netflix but its just my kind of thing. Partly because it involves fashion. But it is also funny as well as following the drama that is her life and the relationships that come with it. It is a super easy watch and theres only one season so if your tempted its something you should definitely give a try.

14.F.R.I.E.N.D.S

"AN EASY WATCH"

So everyone knows about Friends. Most of you will have probably watched it. Now I have only just got round to watching it as it's come on Netflix and I have watched the whole thing through. Now despite the controversy it may cause I am going to be completely honest about it. I did actually really enjoy watching it and I must admit I am glad I now understand all the friends references. However I do think that its overrated I'm not going to lie. It does make me laugh and I love the fashion but I just think I have watched so much better things which are nowhere near as praised as friends is. If you haven't watched it though I do think its worth the watch.

15.On My Block

"DECENT"

This series follows a group of teens who are just starting high school. They were a solid friendship group but the pressures that come with starting high school adds a strain to this friendship group. You see the burdens of gang culture and other related things linked to where they grow up and the cultures of their families. Its an easy watch and I enjoyed it. I don't know its for everyone though. With only one season it is worth giving it a try.

16. Alexa and Katie

"AN EASY WATCH"

This is one of those programmes which reminds me of something I would have watched on Disney channel. Its about two high schools girls friendship. However one of them has cancer, the show puts a positive spin on this though and how they get through school together as a team and make the best out of the situation. If your not a fan of the Disney channel type programmes don't even bother giving  it a try. If you do however then this a such easy watch and deffo that style of show.

17. Crazy Ex Girlfriend

"AN EASY WATCH"

Now lastly is of course Crazy Ex Girlfriend. This one is different to the others I have written about. Crazy Ex Girlfriend is basically a musical comedy series. It follows the story of the main charecter Rebecca who ups her life in New York to move to California to win her ex Josh back. I think its a good show and has good acting in it. Its an easy watch but I wouldn't say its my favourite.

So guys, that is all for my what I've been watching on Netflix and my opinions of what I have watched TV series edition.  I hope you enjoyed it. I would love to know if you would like me to do this for normal TV shows not on Netflix or even for films. I've never done a post like this and as always your feedback is always welcomed.

Thank you so much for reading. I really appreciate all of your support.

My Snapchat - isthatjodie

Hey guys,

I hope you are all well, I firstly would like to apologies for it being such a long time since my last post, things have been super busy with all of my uni work but I have missed blogging so I thought I'd do a quick post and try to get back into the swing of things, I am also super excited to really get my blog kick started in May when I have some more time of from Uni work.

So as you may know Instagram is one of my favourite social media apps. I think its so great for so many different reasons. Not only can you keep up to date with your friends but you can see what other people around the world are doing and most importantly for me get inspired from it.

Now there is a huge conversation around Instagram Influencers at the moment and how they can affect our mental health and self esteem due to comparisons we make against them. Whilst I do believe this is such an important topic and do agree that social medias such as Instagram can effect us in that way I do also think it is important to remember the good things that Instagram and the influencers who are on there can also do for us.

I personally find Instagram is one of my main sources of Inspiration on a daily basis. I think its vital for us to look at these influencers as aspirations of somewhere we could be if we work hard and a goal to work towards (obviously in our own unique way) instead of a comparison to where we are currently.

Yes we may not currently have the lifestyle some of these influencers do but we should use that as an inspiration for what we could have if we work hard. I do also think that this is dependent on which influencers you follow as some are a lot more honest than others with this and its also key to remember that what we see on Instagram most of the time is only the highlights and good things from peoples life that they want us to see and not everyone is perfect.

However with this in mind I wanted to share with you all some of my favourite instagram influencers. Now I do have a lot and I've managed to narrow it down to 30. These influencers are from all different backgrounds including fashion, lifestyle, music, beauty and travel to name a few. I am also very keen to follow on a series from this post of people who I find influential from specific backgrounds I.e a post just about Small Fashion Brands on instagram that inspire me for instance. So If you like this post after you've had a read and that something you'd be interested in having a read of please do let me know.

So lets get started... (these are also in no particular order) I've also taken all screenshots from the individuals Instagrams.

1.) @amyfuchsia

Amy Shaw posts Outfit pictures on her Instagram. I have only been following her for a little while however I have already gained so much outfit Inspo from her. I really like how she styles casual and business together. I mean who knew trainers and a blazer could work so well together. I also really like her outfit backdrops she tends to take photos with a grey toned background which really puts the focus on the outfit. She also makes it really easy to shop anything she wears as she always leaves Links even on her story. Which is also another reason I love following her. She is also a designer like me so I find it really motivational when she puts behind the scenes posts up of what she's currently working on.

2.) @meganellaby

Megan is another one of my favourite influencers on Instagram. She has a playful and colourful fashion sense which is something I love. I am always finding outfit inspiration from her and she too knows how to style an outfit well. She always has amazing different backdrops to her outfit photos too which always make me want to go and visit different places. I really like how she makes her Instagram personal as well by updating everyone on her stories with what she is doing so you can follow her on her journey. She also tends to have really good captions too so her posts aren't just another outfit picture they tell a story.

3.) @kelseyinlondon

Kelsey is another influencer who I have only just started following but someone I've already felt super inspired by. I initially followed her as she makes story templates which if you follow a few bloggers you have probably seen. She puts these in her highlights so anyone can use them. I then started to look more at her content though as I was following her and she has a really exceptional quality to her whole instagram. Everything is really cohesive and professional and I love the light pink girly theme she has. She shares places she has been as well as outfit photos. I personally have been really inspired by the clear effort and hard work she puts into her instagram and her graphic design and I find it really motivational to see someone like her creating her own graphics for branding as its something which a lot of influencers get done externally nowadays.

4.) @marianna_hewitt

Marianna is one of my absolute favourite instagram influencers. I have been following her for a really long time now and can't see myself not following her. She is the ultimate girl boss and seams like such a lovely and genuine person. Not to mention the standard of her instagram and branding game. Everything she does is so professional and she has such high quality content. Her theme also has a really nice calm but modern flow to it. She posts a whole mixture of beauty, fashion, travel and lifestyle. But this isn't the only instagram she runs. She also runs an account called @blogwithme where she offers social media and blogging tips which I think is really helpful and she always replies to any questions her followers have on their. Not only this but just recently she has launched a new skin care brand @summerfridays with one of her friends. This has really taken off and she's really doing amazingly the likes of @kimkardashian has even raved about it on her Instagram. I genuinely feel so motivated when I see how much Marianna has achieved.

5.) @dovesloves

Sarah is a another influencer who I really enjoy following. I think just because some influences have a smaller following as some doesn't mean their content isn't as good or their posts are not as interesting. She posts a combination of beauty, fashion and lifestyle. What I really like about her account is she's so normal. but with a super cool style sense. She has a quirky fun style which I love. She also always tags everything so if you see anything you like you know exactly where its from, even the makeup.

6.) @pollyvdsz

Polly is another influencer who I have followed for a really long time now. I mean literally since the beginning of high school. She is an illustrator who runs her own buisness @sighh.co as well as doing freelance work. Her Instagram is a great mixture of her life and her work. She also does really great stories where she explains about her process which I find super interesting. I love that Polly has her own style where if I saw someone out with one of her products I would immediately know its hers.  She also seems like a super lovely person.

7.) @gracefituk

Grace is a fitness influencer who I've been following for the last year. She posts lifestyle and health and fitness posts mainly. She often posts workout videos which I have found really motivating especially the at home short video clips she does which really do motivate me to get fit. She also has her own brand and is a student at Oxford Uni. If thats not motivational then I don't know what is. She's a great positive influence and also has some great YouTube videos too.

8.) @littlebreathatcould

I have also been following Brea for around a year now. A Fashion Student in New York but also a Stylist. She puts together some truly amazing looks. Where some people have the ideas, her ideas are put into action and work incredibly. She has an amazing vision and as a creative I find her super inspiring. Definitely someone to check out. Her ambition I'm sure is going to take her really far.

9.) @x_carms

Carms is a fashion, travel and lifetysle influencer. I particularly love her fashion posts. She has a really up to date blogger fashion sense but with more of an edge. She mixes colours and neutral tones really well. She always has amazing backdrops to her photos too and she really is a influencer which is really taking off at the moment so keep an eye out for her. She has some really great content.

10.) @mayajama

Maya is is another influencer of instagram I love. Now slightly different to some of the others she's probably best known for her presenting work. But she really does have a great fashion sense and I love seeing what she's wearing over on her Instagram. One thing I particularly love about her is how she keeps everything so real she's not worried about posting the no makeup photos. She also shows a lot of support for her friends over on Instagram and shares things others are doing which I absolutely love.

11.) @amyverity

Amy is another influencer who deserves way more followers. She's a fashion stylist and art director. I love the balance of lifestyle and work that she posts and I find it really interesting to follow people like Amy to watch their journey and get inspired. She really does amazing work and I can see her being really big. She also always shows support for her friends on her insta too which is a great way to network with other creatives.

12.) @leighannepinnock

Leighanne is of course from the girl group Little Mix who I love. Now I completely love all of Little Mix but I chose to include Leighanne in this post because she has a huge focus on fashion on her Instagram which is of course something I have a huge interest in. I love how she combines trends with a little bit of her own quirky inspiration. She makes bold yet trendy statements and I love them she also has a blog too. As well as this by following her you can keep up to date with her exciting life with Little Mix too.

13.) @alexgracejones

Another smaller influencer but never the less still amazing. She really has some great content. Her photos are of such a high quality. I love her fashion posts. She posts some great day time looks. She also has a great overall Branding I think and some really good highlights which you should check out.

14.) @lucindaanderson

Lucinda is a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blogger. She posts really high quality images and definitely deserves more followers than she has. She takes you along to all the events she goes to over on her stories and has a really good highlights section which I think gives her instagram the more personal touch to go along with the really professional images on her feed which I think is a great balance.

15.) @the_fashion.blogger

Holly is a super lovely Fashion Blogger who posts outfit photos. She has a really classy style and is a great influencer to follow if your looking for a fashion blogger to follow as she also makes sure everything is tagged. As well as this she often does really great stories where you can get to know her a bit better and she really is a lovely person.

16.) @bexjadefountain

I have been following Bex for a while and she is a really nice person. She's a blogger who's posts lifestyle posts as well as her super funky fashion. She is like the queen of prints and loves bright colours. Her outfits make a statement but are also so trendy which I love.

17.) @louise.thompson

Louise is of course best known from Made in Chelsea. However she is also a hugely popular instagram influencer. She posts fashion and lifestyle pictures. I love seeing where she hangs out especially as the places are mostly in London I have a lot of them on my list of places to go. She posts really great outfit pictures and always looks so glam. I also love to keep up to date with her life by watching her instagram stories.

18.) @mabel

Mabel is a little bit different to some of the influencers I have talked about. She is a music artist but I really like to follow her for similar reasons to some of the other influencers. I love to watch peoples journeys as they are up and coming and working super hard I find it really inspiring. She also does have a really cool fashion sense too though.

19.) @lydiaemillen

Lydia is a huge name in the world of influencers at the moment. especially in the UK. She has come so far and I recently have really been inspired by her. She's a blogger and Youtuber but also does a lot of other projects and brand deals on the side. Her content is always really professional and she has a lovely theme which flows so well. She is a super lovely person and it has been amazing to see how far she has come even just in the last year. I would also definitely recommend her YouTube channel at the moment as she has just moved house and has some great videos up there at the moment.

20.) @sophieteaart

Sophie is someone I have also been following for a while but recently in particular I have been absolutely loving her Instagram. She is an artist who is currently based in London and shares her journey on Instagram. You get to see all the things she's been working on in her studio and she also has a super amazing bright and quirky fashion sense too. She not only takes you on her journey on her feed but in her day to day life over on her stories which are really fun to watch. She is really hard working and deserves all of the success. She really does motivate me that with a work ethic like hers I could maybe even have my own fashion studio one day.

21.) @prettysickly

Yanin is a very well know influencer in the industry and a very professional one at that too. She posts a combination of style and travel pictures. I particularly love her fashion pictures. She has an edgy blogger style and always manages to put her own style into what she wears and her travel pictures are set in the dreamiest locations. She also has some great YouTube videos too.

She posts some incredible fashion pictures with really unique pieces which she radiates her confidence wearing. She also posts lifestyle photos and keeps you up to date with her life over on her Instagram stories.

24.) @susiebubble

Susie is a very well known and respected blogger within the fashion industry. She has a really individual style sense and she really knows how to put things together to create a look. She has a really good range of brands that she wears and pairs together to create her very unique one of a kind outfits. She also writes really well about fashion in a very intellectual way definitely a blog to give a read of if you are really into fashion.

25.) @chloehelenmiles

Chloe is another great fashion influencer on instagram who also has a blog and YouTube. Her style is really sophisticated but also has a slightly edgy vibe to it as well. Her street style fashion will definitely give you some outfit envy. Her feed is also always so professional and cohesive.

The Confetti Crowd-

The Confetti Crowd are a group of girls who I've been following on Instagram for many years now. They are the brightest coloured girl gang you'll see. I absolutely love their fashion sense and what they wear. But not only that their ambitious work ethic is super motivational. They have a group account as well as their own individual accounts where they have their own goals and projects they work on. Each of them just as inspiring.

I've put images of their individual instagrams below.

Annabelle may not have as many followers as some influncers however her content is just as professional. Her Instagram is super classy and she goes to the best locations. She is also a blogger and Youtuber along side being a fashion student. I personally find it really inspiring for influencers and creators who work so hard on content whilst studying.

I hope you all enjoyed reading about some of my favourite influencers. I would love to do a series like this so let me know if thats something you'd like. I can't wait to get regular blogs up for you all in May and the summer but thank you so much for your support until then.

If you want me to send links to anyones platforms don't hesitate to message. Its so important that we all support each other.

Thank you so much.
